Taurus IT began life as in-house IT Support and development
for Railcraft Associates Ltd, a small engineering consultancy,
situated on the border of North and South Yorkshire. Railcraft's
business success depends on using the best and latest
IT systems and through our work with them, combined with
our already extensive background in IT support and consultancy,
we have developed considerable expertise in selecting
and implementing modern IT hardware and software solutions.
It seemed only logical then to make the most of this and
share our expertise with other companies? And so, in 2005
Taurus IT was born!
Taurus
IT's founder, Richard Burnley, has a strong background
in IT development and support. From an early age Richard
was passionate about computers, 'tinkering' and learning
about them both at home and at school. Following the completion
of an honours degree in Software Engineering at the University
of Newcastle Upon Tyne, it was clear where his future
lay! From university, a position in the IT Systems department
of Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate helped expand Richard's
knowledge of computer systems in a fast-paced business
and manufacturing environment.
From there, a move to York and the Yorkshire Tourist
Board presented fresh challenges and opportunities to
learn new skills and technologies. Finally, with the support
of Railcraft Associates he was able to realise a longstanding
ambition - to offer a friendly, helpful consultancy service
to those that needed it under his own brand name - Taurus
IT.
Through working in many different and diverse sectors
(including manufacturing, retail, engineering design,
marketing, training and research) we have developed a
broad spectrum of skills and experience which we feel
compliment our thorough, logical yet creative approach.
Above all, we have a genuine interest and passion for
our work, which we believe shows through in the quality
of service we provide and our attention to detail.
But why 'Taurus IT'?
The Zodiac sign of Taurus is synonymous with practicality,
reliability, honesty and loyalty, and being 'down-to-earth',
and we'd like to think we are too!
